HELP BRING VIVACE TO PINNACLE!
A message from Tim Waugh
I'm sure you're aware of my interest and support of handbell youth! I feel that these ringers under 25 represent the strong future of the guild and our musical art. As well, I figure you're aware of my love for Puerto Rico, both the island and the wonderful people who live there.
One of the preeminent groups in the world today, VIVACE, conducted by Carlos Rivera and Carlos Avila, has been invited to be a part of the AGEHR PINNACLE this summer. This group is an unbelievable group of extraordinary musicianship and technique.
I saw this group perform this past November in Puerto
Rico and was TOTALLY blown away. Colleagues Monica McGowan and Bill Payn were as
much impressed as I was, and we encouraged them to apply to come to the states
and provide our AGEHR audience this awesome top-drawer performance that we
experienced on the island.
They CERTAINLY are one of the groups who represent the Pinnacle of Handbells! For a taste of this group - go watch this YouTube video!
This group is a youth group - totally made up of ringers who were far to young to be in this group the last time they appeared at the Dallas TX Seminar. One of the group recently received a scholorship to participate in last years Distinctly Bronze, a well deserved honor. Now I'm hoping that the entire group can come to the states and be a part of this exciting Pinnacle event and participate fully in the exciting educational times that await.
This group has been working hard to fund-raise on the island. I've been aware, as I know you have, of the increased prices of travel, baggage fees, and all of the accompanying expenses of a Nashville visit. Their fund raising efforts are falling short of this goal.
We need your help! A contribution of $750.00 would sponsor *one* of the student ringers to travel to Nashville this summer. ANY contribution would benefit this excellent group to be a part of our AGEHR event.
Area IV has provided a "pocket" to receive these funds, thanks to Chair Richard Moore, Treasurer Jane Patterson and FL Chair Valerie Stevenson. These contributions will be tax deductable.
Donations to the fund must be made by check payable to AGEHR Area IV and marked VIVACE.
The checks should be mailed to:
Jane Patterson, Area IV
155 Holly Circle
Lyman, SC 29365

Thanks in advance for joining me in sponsoring this wonderful group!
